Yucatán is an excellent location to jet-set for those looking for an authentic, unique adventure.
The State of Yucatán has some exciting news for those feeling the travel bug. They recently announced that they’ve entered the next phase of reopening with its tourism reactivation plan. This includes reopening their iconic cenotes, archaeological sites, hotels, restaurants, and haciendas.
Reopening Yucatán Safely
Here’s what they have to say on taking strict safety measures:
“All businesses must be certified with the Certificate of Good Sanitary Practices developed by the Ministry of Tourism of the state of Yucatán and undergo an on-site review of their facilities by the Yucatán Health Secretariat (SSY). The certification program was approved by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and its ‘Safe Travels stamp’ effort.”
Yucatán is an excellent location to jet-set for those looking for an authentic, unique adventure. This getaway in the Gulf of Mexico has so much to offer from exploring the archaeological wonders of Chichén Itzá and Ek Balam to cave diving and swimming in a cenote — a natural well of crystal-clear water. Did you know the State of Yucatán has over 3000 of these pools where you can swim, snorkel, and even zip line?
History & Heritage in the State of Yucatán
Built on an ancient Mayan city, the capital of Mérida was founded in 1542. You and your partner can immerse yourself in French-inspired architecture, stay in a luxurious hotel, peruse museums, night markets, and the theatre.
The State of Yucatán is well known for its haciendas. Many of these historic estates have been revived into high-end hotels and museums. But, some have kept their original charm and can make for an incredible stage for your wedding. Destination weddingmoon, anyone?
Their tourism team recommends that you visit Yucatan.travel/certificado-bupsy while planning your trip to find activities and certified operators with whom you can plan your visit to Yucatán.
