Q: Let’s get to it, what’s your business’ specialty?
A: We specialize in luxury hairstyles and make up for weddings and events.
Q: Where can we find you?
A: You can currently find Jessica at Kuva Uptown Salon in Minneapolis, and Scarlett at Concrete Image in St. Cloud
Q: Tell us when and how your business began.
A: We became best friends in 7th Grade and both of us went into the beauty industry after high school. After Jessica came back from Florida in 2016, we both decided we wanted a future in weddings and events. Scarlett had launched Pin-Ups for Soldiers in St. Cloud when her husband took his second deployment. It was so gratifying and with so many years of on-site wedding experience, there was no doubt this was our future. We founded Gypsy Hair Guru in 2017 and continue to grow.
Q: What makes your company unique from others?
A: There are so many things about us that are truly unique. I believe our adaptability is what really sets us apart from the rest. We are always willing to go the extra mile whether that means driving across Minnesota or Wisconsin to get to that far away wedding or providing detailed services to accommodate every ethnic background. Going above and beyond is who we are.

Q: How long have you been in the industry? What do you think has changed the most since then?
A: We entered the industry 18 years ago this fall. I believe the changes taking place now with COVID-19 will forever change the industry.
Q: Walk us through your average day.
A: That’s the fun part—every day is different! We are juggling salon clients, homes, children, and Gypsy Hair Guru.

Q: What would you want couples searching for your business type to know?
A: We take pride in our work. We travel the country to receive the best education and ever grow our talents to give you the best service and skills.
Q: How far in advance should a couple book with you?
A: The earlier the better. Most of our booking is in January-February at this time (June), but it never hurts to check availability. We might have it!
Q: What’s hot in wedding beauty right now?
A: The boho style is right up our ally, along with flowers and foliage to add to your do.

Q: Where do you find inspiration for wedding beauty?
A: Russian hairstylists like Gulnara and Gregorovich have given me so much inspiration to grow. They are revolutionizing the modern up style.
Q: What are some of your favorite products to use on clients?
A: Lanza has never let us down with one color or style. Onsite, we have to have dry texture hairspray, brush through hairspray, foundation mousse, and healing oil.
LIGHTNING ROUND!
Q: Do you have any favorite podcasts?
A: Scarlett loves the podcast Imagined Life & Snap Judgement, and Jessica is more into music.
Q: Who’s your most played artist on your streaming service?

Q: Heels or flats?
A: Heel to go out, flats for work
Q: Mountains or Beach?
A: How can you choose?!
Q: Go-to cocktail (or mocktail)?
A: Jessica-Margarita
Scarlett-Bloody Mary
Q: When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: A hairstylist or figure skater-LOL!
Q: You’re at brunch. Are you going for something sweet or savory?
A: Savory
Q: Go-to comfort food?
