Rita Vinieris is the designer of Rivini, a luxury Bridal Collection we were privileged to view at Spring Bridal Market. She was born and raised in Canada and is the daughter of two Greek immigrants. Vinieris began her fashion career with humble beginnings. After studying Economics at the University of Toronto she decided to commit to her love of fashion and studied at the International Academy of Design. She worked at a boutique as a designer for 6 years, freelanced for Izod Lacoste Mens Canada for a year, designed furs for the Japanese market, privately designed eveningwear and was the Design Coordinator for Fairweathers for two years…It’s safe to say Rita has had a little taste of everything in the design world! In 1995 Rita decided to bring her love of fashion into the bridal world when she launched Rivini. Since then, she has been awarded many times including the 2002 New Designer of the Year Award.
The vision of “Modern Romance” created a beautiful backdrop for Rita Vinieris’ inspiration board for her Rivini Spring Summer 2018 Collection. Featuring a full collection of silhouettes, their gowns continue to strive for perfection with beautiful fabrics, some so delicate you had to touch them. Holding some of the silk chiffons was indisputably like holding air if you can even imagine such a thing! Everything this season was soft and romantic, yet the designs seem to elevate themselves through a confident woman. From layers of fluttering chiffon skirts with front slits to layers upon layers of French lace. The delicate detailed and beaded illusion bodices created looks for varying brides, whether you love strapless sweetheart necklines, halter, off-the-shoulder or even long dramatic flared sleeves. Bows seem to bring in the traditional look to some designs as they became modern in pale blush while pushing the design concepts to airy full gowns with a one-shoulder bodice accented with a romantic ruffled sleeve.
