It’s never too early or too late to start your skincare routine! Whether you are recently engaged or your wedding is this month, Emily from Mary Kay ensures that amping up your skincare regimen with Mary Kay will help you look and feel your best on your big day! This week we spoke with Emily, who specializes in Mary Kay skincare to find out the tricks of the trade when it comes to wedding beauty.
Q: What does Mary Kay specialize in?
A: Skincare & cosmetics
Q: What makes Mary Kay stand out in terms of beauty options brides have in the Twin Cities area?
A: Instead of us doing your makeup on the day of the wedding, we teach you techniques to look great for ANY wedding occasion (showers, honeymoon, etc)
Q: How long have you been with Mary Kay?
A: 12 years
Q: What do you love about working in the wedding industry?
A: Brides are always excited to look their best and it creates great skincare habits early on!
Q: What’s an average day in your life like?
A: My mornings are consumed with getting two little kids out the door, and then I work with customers and train my fellow beauty consultants on how to make others look great!
Q: What would you want a bride in the wedding planning process to know about choosing the perfect skincare/ beauty routine?
A: It’s never too early/late to start great skincare for the wedding and beyond. When your skin looks great, your makeup looks even better. I also recommend choosing a makeup look that’s more advanced that what you would typically wear, but not so advanced that people are wondering “who’s that person coming down the aisle?”
Q: What are some of your favorite beauty options for brides?
A: I love getting the skin “melt-proof” with foundation primer and makeup finishing spray. It makes such a difference in looking great the whole day. I also recommend a good cheek and lip color to really help your photos pop!
Q: How far in advance should begin their pre-wedding skincare routine?
A: The sooner the better! You’ll want to look great for everything.
Q: How far in advance should a bride settle on her wedding day makeup look?
A: I don’t think there’s a time frame on this. If you find a look you love right away, go with it! I think it’s great to wear it a few times to get used to yourself in the look.
Q: Anything else you want couples to know about Mary Kay or choosing a pre-wedding skincare routine?
A: Mary Kay has an amazing virtual makeover on my personal website where you can upload your photo and try on makeup & wedding hairstyles. It allows you to browse ahead of time before meeting with me to try it on in person.
Lightning Round!
