It was clearly our honor to interview Simon Lycett of Simon Lycett, Ltd. who is the florist to Queen Elizabeth II and has created numerous floral displays for Her Majesty. Simon was commissioned to do the floral design for the Queen’s Gala Dinner at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park on Thursday evening prior to the wedding. On the guests list to add a little stress was Her Majesty, the royal family and members of European royal families. We asked Simon to tell us about UK weddings and flowers and what can you do for an understated WOW statement! A fun and great interview we had to learn about the “C” word in London for flowers and how seasonal flowers are utilized with extraordinary outcomes. How large-scale pedestal arrangement like those seen in Westminster Abbey (we call them Impact Pieces) can give you an awe-inspiring look guests will remember forever. Enjoy the interview and the laughter!
